藝術休耕 湯皇珍創作自述
The Art Fallow Tang Huang-Chen 1994 Taipei & Shin-Wu

當我興沖沖地，在這片休耕的田中散下我的一盒「維生方糖」，它們總共有七十二塊，我很快失望的看見它們不論如何排列鋪陳都失去了數量，成為一個微不足道的小點。我昏炫地站起來，向四面望去，大地上找不到邊緣，我的確也成了一個小點。

In the fallow, I cheerfully spread one box of Wei-Sen cube sugar (the first mark of cube sugar made in Taiwan), an amount of 72 pieces. I am quickly disappointed by the sight of the dissolving cubes, piece by piece the cube turn into tiny dots, no matter how they were arranged. I stand up giddy from my useless attempts unable to find the horizon, I see myself as a tiny dot.

核心是會消失的，也許頗符合荒謬的存在情境；桃花源、新雪梨、琉森公園、香隄大道…說不盡遙遠「鄉愁」，我們找不到桃花源，不是處於澳洲，不是瑞士或法國，我們有交通阻塞，空氣污染，水源缺乏，垃圾滿坑，是烏托邦似的居所嚮往—「家」，寄託給了方糖塊。

以橡皮章戳蓋在方糖表面，將被淺植在修耕田中，在作者持續清理出來的彎道核心，一塊接一塊。這些進程，沖出照片，連同方糖盒子，同步經由郵遞方式送往畫廊。田中，逐漸分解它們的是不受人約制的螞蟻世界；畫廊，逐次掩蓋住的是一片可以眺望綠樹的玻璃窗。

Home are symbolized with cubes of sugar, Stamped with rubber seal those names of “sweet home” that promoted by the house salesman ,the cubes of sugar will be sowed, not too deeply., one after the other at the middle of curved groove the I have made. The terms stamped on the cubes of sugar become blurred in the damp atmosphere. On the other hand ,the cubes of sugar will also gradually t disappear, digested by ants, creatures not ruled by humanity.. Temptation arises from the sugar which disappears. I think life takes on similar ways.

誘惑是它—糖加家的夢想，消失也是它—糖加家的夢想，人生如斯，我想。
